An introduction to playing Air Hockey
Start Air Hockey by looking at the playing area and its controls. Score seven goals before the computer. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move. Use the opening round to become familiar with the layout. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.
Move your paddle against a computer opponent and score through the opposite goal.
Something to practise
After a move, check what changed. Decide which rule explains the new state before acting again. Notice the feedback after each input.
The challenge in front of you
Score seven goals before the computer. Read that aim before choosing your first action. Follow this game’s rules rather than another version’s.
Step by step
- Start.
- Move your mallet within the lower half.
- Strike toward the upper goal.
- Goals reset the puck.
Input guidance
Mouse/touch movement or Left/Right controls. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. A new-round button replaces the current round.
Follow the example
An angled hit can bank off a side wall. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Verify the rule before continuing.
Pay attention to this rule
You cannot move into the computer’s half. Check the rule before repeating the action. Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round.
